Meet the Panel

Dr. Leah Torres

Dr. Torres has been providing high-quality reproductive health care to Utahns and their families since moving to Salt Lake City in 2012. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine and completed OB/Gyn residency training at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Her practice consists of a full range of obstetric and gynecologic care including high risk obstetrics, infertility care, abortion care, and everything in between. Dr. Torres completed the Family Planning Fellowship at the University of Utah– she is qualified to perform first- and second-trimester abortion procedures and she holds a Masters of Science degree in clinical research.This not only qualifies her to provide evidence-based medical care, but also to conduct and critique clinical research.

Dr. Torres has co-authored a variety of peer-reviewed journal publications focusing on preterm birth issues as well as best practices in contraception. She is a Junior Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and an active advocate for improving health care policies on local, state and federal levels. She is an actively involved in the following organizations:
