Deidre Henderson was elected to the Utah State Senate in 2012. She and her husband, Gabe, have been married for twenty-two years. They have built a successful business and are raising their five children in the beautiful city of Spanish Fork.
In January 2008, Deidre began an unexpected journey into politics working on the insurgent Congressional campaign of Jason Chaffetz. She organized volunteers in Utah County and eventually became political director where she provided strategic and logistical leadership to the 1,000 person volunteer force. After Congressman Chaffetz was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, Deidre ran his political operation until March 2012.
Deidre is also a member of Mountain View Hospital Board of Trustees. She was honored to serve as Public Service Fellow for Utah Valley University during the 2013 fall semester. She has been awarded 2014 Taxpayer Advocate of the Year, 2014 Friend of Transportation and the Taxpayer, 2013 Insurance Legislator of the Year, and is a 2014 alumnus of the prestigious Council of State Governments Henry Toll Fellowship program.
