Dr. Rob Butters is an Assistant Professor, Chair of Forensic Social Work, and Director of the Utah Criminal Justice Center at the University of Utah College of Social Work. He teaches advanced practice courses and research in the graduate school. Dr. Butters researches crime and delinquency, specialty courts, sexual abuse and assault and evidence-based practices. He also speaks locally and nationally on forensic social work and the welfare of children and families.
In addition to all accomplishments, Dr. Butters is on the executive board of the National Organization of Forensic Social Work (NOFSW). He’s the clinical director of Life Matters Counseling & Health Center and has worked clinically with children and families for over 20 years in the public and private sectors. Rob has a B.S. in Psychology, a Master’s of Social Work and a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Utah.
